Background

Some may say that the sport of full contact kickboxing in Great Britain is in a slump and in decline in both quality of top class fights and World class fighters. The true stars in this discipline are few and far between but that could all be about to change with the emergence of an exciting new prospect and precocious young talent ready to head the next generation of fighters to the top and rejuvenate the sport back to the once dizzy heights seen back in this country in the mid eighties.

Birmingham born 19 year old Qasim 'THE DREAM' Nisar is riding high with success and seems like he is well on the road in becoming a major star in his chosen art.
After a very successful and exciting last couple of years Qasim has remained unbeaten in 30 straight ring light continuous bouts along the way picking himself up an English Championship, 3 versions of the British title, 3 versions of the European crown and more recently 2 versions of the Wold title.

After finding it difficult to get suitable and experienced enough opponents for Qasim in the amateur full contact arena his team now believe the time is right to let him off the leash and let him throw his hat into the Professional full contact ring. Qasim took part in his first amateur full contact bout in May 2005 and went 22 - 0 with 1 no contest winning 14 of those by way of stoppage. In October 2007 Qasim contested his first Professional full contact fight and he remains unbeaten to date working his way through the Super Lightweight rankings.

We caught up with Kickboxing's answer to Boxing's Amir Khan to find out what are his plans for the future and to get an insight in to what goes on in the mind of potentially Britain's brightest prospect.
